We are pleased to announce that six (6!) new faculty have recently accepted offers to join the department, in fields including igenous petrology, planetary sciences, geobiology, sedimentology, and geodesy. Together with other recently-hired faculty (Cailey Condit, Brad Lipovsky, and Marine Denolle), who joined us in 2020 and 2021, they bring fresh teaching ideas and innovative research to our department.

The future of ESS is in good hands!

Igneous petrologist/volcanologist Michelle Muth and sedimentologist/geochronologist Marjorie Cantine will join us in Fall, 2023.

Geobiologist Akshay Mehra, planetary scientists Baptiste Journaux and Joshua Krissansen-Totton, and geodesist/seismologist Brendan Crowell are already here.
