On November 12, ESS Affiliate Professor Brian Atwater gave a talk on varved records of time intervals between floods from glacial Lake Missoula at a Northwest Geological Society dinner seminar.

The Northwest Geological Society meets most months for dinner talks. The November meeting included congratulations for the Society founder, ESS Professor Emeritus Eric Cheney for his 80th birthday. Atwater’s talk excerpted correspondence recently found by ESS undergraduate student Thomas Ott in archives held by the Quaternary Research Center.
