James Genero IV

Research areas

James is interested in magma origin, evolution and storage conditions within distributed volcanic systems. Growing up in Washington, James is deeply fond of the Cascade volcanic arc, particularly of the overlooked and understudied volcanoes. James earned a B.S. in Geology from Central Washington University in 2025, where he completed volcanology research on the Goat Rocks volcanic cluster. Additionally, James interned at the Cascades Volcano Observatory where he conducted research on the magma storage in the West Crater volcanic field. James hopes to use his research for applications in volcanic monitoring and hazard assessment.
