Research areas

Jason Ott is a graduate researcher in the Structural Petrology of the Lithosphere research group of Cailey Condit, pursuing a PhD in Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington. Jason is working to understand the strength and deformation mechanisms of mafic blueschists along the subduction interface under ductile deformation conditions. Jason uses a multifaceted approach combining experimental mineral physics and microstructural analysis to link observations of exhumed subduction zone rocks to processes in active subduction zones to study the role of blueschist in these complex systems.
