Jessica Ghent

Research areas

Jess is a 5th-year PhD student and NSF GRFP fellow studying volcanic hazard mitigation through geodesy and social sciences. She returned to school as a nontraditional student in 2017, completing her A.S. in Geology at Colorado’s Front Range Community College in 2019 and her B.A. in Geology/Geophysics at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021. Her first chapter of work, which highlights GPS-derived ionospheric disturbances from the January 2022 Tonga eruption/tsunami, can be found in Geophysical Research Letters.
