Research areas

I hold a B.A. in Geology and Physics/Astronomy from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota; where my research focused on the tectonics of the Klamath Mountains (northern California/southern Oregon) and the development a model for the cryospheres of water-rich exoplanets. I am interested in questions related to glaciology, ice flow dynamics, glacial hazards, the control of glaciers on/by climate, and the interactions of societies and cultures with nearby glaciers. Having worked as a backpacking guide and outdoor preschool teacher, and am passionate about outdoor education and increasing inclusivity and access to the outdoors.
