Sophia is a PhD student advised by Eric Steig and Gerard Roe studying polar climate dynamics, with a particular focus on the anthropogenic attribution of West Antarctic Ice Sheet retreat. 

Her broader research interests include ice-ocean interactions, attribution science, and sea level rise projections.

She received a B.A. in Physics and Earth & Planetary Sciences from Harvard University in 2025.
