Research Interests:
My current research centers on the process of crust-mantle interaction, including the cause of mantle heterogeneity in cartons and compositional diversity of arc magmatic rocks within subduction zones. A suite of mantle rocks (kimberlite, peridotite, Lamproite, etc.), especially some that have experienced extreme metamorphism (MARID and PIC rocks) were collected to investigate the multistage mantle metasomatism and mantle heterogeneity. Mg-K isotope method were used to track the source features of these mantle-derived magmas and metasomatic agents in the mantle, in collaboration with Fang-Zhen Teng and Andrea Giuliani. Also, a suite of subduction related magmatic rocks and metamorphic rocks from the Qilian orogenic belt of Tibet plateau were collected to constrain the different melt and fluid contribution to the arc magmatic rocks during the subduction process.
Isotope and major and trace element geochemistry, P-T pseudosection modeling, geothermobarometers, petrographic observation, zircon U-Pb dating, together with field geology was used in my research.
