Resources for New Faculty

The University of Washington provides new faculty with a wide range of benefits and resources designed to support both personal and professional needs. Faculty enjoy comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, tuition exemptions, and support for parental and family caregiving. Professional resources include access to world-class research facilities, technology, graduate student assistance, and various orientation programs like the Teaching@UW Program (previously called Faculty Fellows), which helps new faculty integrate into the university community. For families, there are housing options, dependent care assistance, and information about Seattle’s public schools. New hires are also guided through the onboarding process with tools like a checklist, UW NetID setup, and parking options. Additionally, the university provides information about ethics, policies related to faculty responsibilities, and resources for research grants and institutional change.
